Bollywood: Dirty Picture mit Vidya Balan gegen Heroine mit einer Aishwarya Rai?

Während man in Hollywood seit einigen Wochen über den Konkurrenzkampf zwischen den beiden „Snow White“-Projekten von den Universal Pictures und deren Kollegen bei Relativity Media lesen darf und sich die beiden Produktionen mit Kristen Stewart und Lily Collins am Ende doch etwas unterscheiden, scheint es auch in der indischen Filmindustrie Bollywood seit kurzem zwei recht ähnliche Filmrivalen zu geben.
Sicherlich war und ist es interessant, dass man bei Universal Pictures den Kinostart von „Snow White and the Huntsman“ mit Twilight Saga-Dame Kristen Stewart, Charlize Theron, Sam Claflin und einen Chris Hemsworth nach vorne verlegte und Relativity Media bei ihrer Produktion von „The Brothers Grimm: Snow White“ nachgezogen haben und nun mit Lily Collins und Julia Roberts wieder eher im Kino anlaufen.
Doch ob sich die beiden Filme rund um das Märchen von Schneewittchen von den weltbekannten Gebrüder Grimm wirklich solch Konkurrenz im kommenden Jahr 2012 machen werden bleibt trotzdem ein wenig fraglich, denn bisher scheinen alle Filmfans an beiden Produktionen interessiert zu sein und dabei unterscheiden sich diese Filme zu „Snow White“ durchaus. Während der Film mit Kristen Stewart etwas actionreicher und wohl spannender wie auch blutiger wird (man hofft es..), wird man Lily Collins bei der Konkurrenz eher auf eine recht süße Art und Weise präsentiert bekommen.

In der Filmindustrie Indiens zeichnet sich seit einigen Tagen ein ähnlicher Konkurrenzkampf an, denn nachdem im Rahmen des Filmfestivals in Cannes, Frankreich, von Madhur Bhandarkar der neue Film „Heroine“ mit der bekannten Hauptdarstellerin Aishwarya Rai Bachchan offiziell angekündigt wurde, beeilt man sich bei der Produktion des Movies „Dirty Picture“ mit Darstellerin Vidya Balan.
Dieser Film namens „Dirty Picture“ erzählt das Leben der südindischen „Sexbombe“ Silk Smitha und dabei übernimmt die Schauspielerin Vidya Balan unter der Regie von Ekta Kapoor die Hauptrolle. Neben ihr trifft man bei diesem Movie noch auf Tusshar Kapoor, einen Emraan Hashmi und Naseeruddin Shah – was vielversprechend klingt.
Nachdem der Regisseur Madhur Bhandarkar in Cannes den Film „Heroine“ angekündigt hat, gab man bei der Produktion von „Dirty Picture“ ziemlich schnell die Termine der Produktion bekannt. Laut einigen Gerüchten ist auch klar, wieso man sich rund um Ekta Kapoor inzwischen so beeilt, denn „Dirty Picture“ soll mit dem Plot von „Heroine“ ziemlich viele Gemeinsamkeiten besitzen und somit möchte man diesen Film wohl schneller in die indischen Kinos bringen als es Bhandarkar mit „Heroine“ und einer Aishwarya Rai wohl gelingen wird.
Schließlich wird der neue Film wohl erfolgreicher sein, welcher eher in den Kinos anlaufen wird. Fraglich bleibt natürlich ob es wirklich so viele Gemeinsamkeiten geben wird – aber wenn man an die bisherigen Informationen zu „Heroine“ mit Aishwarya Rai (als Ersatz für Kareena Kapoor) denkt und bei „Dirty Picture“ an Silk Smitha erinnert wird.. könnte es durchaus Ähnlichkeiten geben.

Ra.One: Bollywood-Star Shahrukh Khan auf Promotion-Tour – Neuer Teaser kommt

Über die beiden indischen Superstars Shahrukh Khan (auch Shah Rukh Khan) und den Tamil-Darsteller Rajinikanth gibt es auch in dieser Woche einige Neuigkeiten, wobei man für den südindischen Schauspieler Rajinikanth natürlich weiterhin hofft, dass er sich von seiner Krankheit schnell erholen wird.
Bei seinem Kollegen Shahrukh Khan steht in diesem Jahr natürlich neben dem Kinostart von „Don 2 – The Chase Continues“ noch der Science-Fiction Movie „Ra.One“ mit Schauspielern wie Tom Wu, Arjun Rampal und einer Bollywood-Lady wie Kareena Kapoor auf dem Programm.
Dabei weiß man natürlich seit langer Zeit bereits, dass dieser Superhelden-Movie „Ra.One“ dem Produzenten und Hauptdarsteller Shahrukh Khan sehr am Herzen liegt und der asiatische Superstar nichts unversucht lässt, damit der Kinostart in einigen Monaten auch ein grandioser Erfolg für die Verantwortlichen wird und die vielen Fans obendrein noch vom endgültigen Film begeistert sein werden.

Dabei läuft die Promotion für den Kinostart des Bollywood-Movies „Ra.One“ mit und von Shah Rukh Khan langsam aber sicher an und dies obwohl der Sci-Fi Blockbuster eigentlich erst am 26. Oktober in den Kinos (und hoffentlich auch bei uns in Deutschland..) anlaufen wird. Somit kann man von einer ausgiebigen Promotion für „Ra.One“ ausgehen und dabei denkt man sofort an Teaser mit den Szenen von Schauspielerin Kareena Kapoor, denn diese hat man in den bisherigen Videoclips eher selten erblickt.
Zudem gibt es seit heute eine Promotion-Kampagne und Tour für „Ra.One“ durch die indischen Städte wie Indore, Ahmedabad, Delhi und Chandigarh – wie man so etwas zum Beispiel von der Twilight Saga mit Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson und / oder Taylor Lautner kennt. Dabei wird Shahrukh Khan im Rahmen dieser Promo-Tour für den Superheldenfilm „Ra.One“ auch ein bis zwei neue Teaser veröffentlichen und somit hat man auch in der Ferne das Glück, dank dieser Promotion ein oder zwei neue Clips von „Ra.One“ sehen zu können.
Der asiatische Star Shah Rukh Khan wird ein Teil dieser Promotion-Tournee, wobei sich der bekannte Darsteller auch danach noch in anderen Städten sehen lässt um etwas Werbung für „Ra.One“ zu machen. Seine Kollegen wie Kareena Kapoor und Arjun Rampal werden sich einem Shahrukh Khan dann etwas später anschließen – vermutlich erst einen Monat vor dem Kinostart von „Ra.One“ im Oktober.
Indessen weiß man natürlich schon, dass der Tamil-Star Rajinikanth nach Singapur gereist ist um sich dort in einem Krankenhaus weiterbehandeln zu lassen. Dahingehend wurde nun bekannt, dass Rajinikanth nicht nur mit seiner Familie nach Singapur reiste, sondern dieser Vorschlag wohl von seinem guten Freund, dem Bollywood-Star Amitabh Bachchan kam.
Amitabh Bachchan schlug dem südindischen 60jährigen Darsteller Rajinikanth (Rajini) vor, dass er sich wohl am Besten in Singapur behandeln lässt und es dort auch das für ihn vermutlich „beste“ Krankenhaus geben wird. Somit begab sich der Tamil-Schauspieler Rajinikanth inzwischen bereits in das Mount Elizabeth Hospital in Singapur und viele Fans weltweit drücken ihm für eine schnelle Genesung, genauso wie die Bachchans, sicherlich die Daumen. Yash Raj Films: Yash Chopra plant Bollywood-Movie mit Shah Rukh Khan und Kajol..?

Das letzte Mal sah man die beliebte Bollywood-Schauspielerin Kajol an der Seite des bekannten asiatischen Superstars Shahrukh Khan (Shah Rukh Khan) bei dem durchaus erfolgreichen Kinofilm „My Name Is Khan“ vom indischen Regisseur Karan Johar und inzwischen zeichnet sich ein Comeback dieses Film-Paares ab, denn laut einigen Gerüchten könnte man Kajol bald wieder neben Shahrukh Khan in einer neuen Produktion erleben.
Mitschuld an diesen Gerüchten um einen neuen Bollywood-Movie mit Kajol und Shah Rukh Khan in den Hauptrollen ist sicherlich Yash Chopra. Der indische Filmregisseur und Produzent (Yash Raj Films) teilte vor einigen Wochen mit, dass ein jeder wissen würde, dass er bei einem neuen Film stets auf Shahrukh Khan zurückgreifen würde.
Danach erklärte der einflussreiche Regisseur und Bollywood-Produzent Yash Chopra, dass der asiatische Darsteller Shahrukh Khan für seine Produktionsfirma Yash Raj Films wie eine Familie wäre und er den bekannten Bollywood-Star auch immer wie einen Teil seiner eigenen Familie angesehen hätte.

Obendrein sprach Yash Chopra davon, dass es bei der neuen indischen Filmproduktion seines Labels Yash Raj Films nicht nur eine Rolle für Shah Rukh Khan geben wird, sondern dass auch zwei weibliche Hauptrollen zu besetzen sind. Noch gibt es wohl kein endgültiges Drehbuch zu diesem neuen Film von Yash Raj Films, aber vermutlich hat man sich bereits auf die Suche nach zwei passenden Schauspielerinnen gemacht und wägt ab, wer am „besten“ an die Seite von Shah Rukh Khan passt.
Laut den daraus entstandenen Spekulationen soll die sympathische und beliebte Schauspielerin Kajol eine der beiden weiblichen Hauptrollen bei diesem neuen Kinofilm von Yash Chopra bekommen und somit trifft man dann erneut auf dieses durchwegs erfolgreiche Film-Paar Kajol & Shahrukh Khan. Zudem wird Yash Copra bei dieser Produktion sein Comeback als Filmregisseur geben, denn er selbst wird bei dieser Produktion hinter den Kameras stehen.
Nachdem sein letzter Film als Regisseur (Veer Zaara) aus dem Jahr 2004 ist, werden sich einige Fans sicherlich darüber freuen können, dass jemand wie Yash Chopra sich mal wieder als verantwortlicher Regisseur betätigen wird.
Am Ende sollte man vielleicht noch erwähnen, dass auch die prominente Bollywood-Dame Katrina Kaif mit diesem neuen Filmprojekt von Yash Raj Films in Verbindung gebracht wird und neben Kajol und Hauptdarsteller Shahrukh Khan die zweite weibliche Hauptrolle übernehmen könnte. Laut manchen Gerüchten soll es beinahe schon „fix“ sein, dass man bei diesem neuen Bollywood-Film mit Shah Rukh Khan auch Kajol und eine Katrina Kaif erleben darf.
Sicherlich klingt all dies recht interessant aber da es noch keine offizielle Bestätigung von Yash Chopra für die Besetzung der weiblichen Rollen durch Kajol und Katrina Kaif gibt, sollte man sich noch ein wenig in Geduld üben. Ein neuer Film mit Kajol, Shahrukh Khan und Katrina Kaif? Hui. Mal sehen..

3 Khans at Idiots Premiere!

Aamir and Shahrukh may have patched up, but the same can not be said for Shahrukh and Salman who traded cold vibes all evening at the 3 Idiots Premiere.

Both Salman and Shahrukh were invited by Aamir and Producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra respectively. Though there were no fireworks when the two superstars came face to face, it was evident that they had yet to put the ugly spat, that took place over a year ago, behind them.

Sources revealed that both continued to glare angrily at each other throughout the event and at one moment it even looked as if Salman would go ahead and pick a fight.

However ever-tactful Aamir made sure to keep Salman engaged in small talk.

Other than the three Khans, Saif Ali Khan along with beau and female lead Kareena Kapoor were also present at the gala.

3 Cheers to 3 Idiots! (Movie Review)

3 Idiots is not a film. In fact, it's a rollercoaster ride that guarantees you tons and tons of rollicking laughter. The film is like a kid that never tires of entertaining you. The creators of Munnabhai, have just raised their own standards several notches higher with 3 Idiots.

After the few initial sequences, the film is narrated in a non-linear pattern by Farhan Qureshi (R. Madhavan), the first idiot. He is brought together with the second idiot Raju Rastogi (Sharman Joshi) by Chatur Ramalingam, who apparently wants to clear the score with the three idiots. Thanks to Chatur Ramalingam's obsession to prove that he is the winner, the two idiots reunite with the third one- Ranchoddas Laxmandas Chanchad (Aamir Khan).

The three friends, study in a very cool engineering college aptly titled ICE where nicknames are kept to make it obvious that it's the area of numbers, formulas and everything scientific and complex. For example, the handy guy in the college is tagged Millimeter. A dog is named gigabyte and her pups are named kilobyte and megabyte. Don't worry this family doesn't bite, tells the friendly Millimeter to Farhan.

While Farhan comes to the college because his father wants it, Raju comes because he sees it as a way out of poverty. Their dull and boring lives are changed by Ranchoddas Laxmandas Chanchad who on the very first day proves that he is so smart, he is eccentric! The way he rigs up an instrument so that the senior who pees on his door gets an electric shock, right where it would hurt the most, proves that he is a class apart!

Rancho is naughty and loves making people laugh. He hates the way the educational system works. According to him, the grade system is like the caste system. He hates the fact that the system is mass producing machines and not well-educated people. But his unconventional thinking is easily misconstrued by his professors and especially his rigid principal Veeru Sahastra Buddhe aka Virus, as bad attitude. It puts him in the bad books of the faculty. And since Raju and Farhan always tag along with Rancho on his misadventures, they too fall under the same category. Poor fellows, unlike in the book, here Rancho comes first and they are left to come last in class.

Raju and Farhan's parents are sent a note to inform that their children are getting way too influenced by 'bad company'. So the three are summoned by both the families. At Farhan's house Rancho is totally blamed and not allowed to have food. At Raju's house the food is offered but after seeing that Aunty Rastogi is not very particular about hygiene, the food just doesn't seem so yummy! Rancho as usual comes up with a knock-out idea to gatecrash at a wedding to fill their tummies. That's where he meets Pia (Kareena Kapoor), explains how she shouldn't marry her fiance and also finds out she happens to be Virus's daughter.

Rancho's continued misadventures force Raju to change rooms, so he can be on the safer side. However, Farhan who takes an instant liking to this 'different boy' sticks with him and his ingenious plan to make Raju return. However, it takes Raju's father to get seriously sick and get rescued by Rancho to make Raju realize what a true friend Rancho is. It's apparently during this emergency that he takes Pia's help and this is the point where Pia starts to have a soft corner for him.

The college life of Rancho, Raju and Farhan are filled with disasters and catastrophes, laughter and fun, love and tears. However, no one in their wildest dreams thought that the last day of college would be the last day they will ever see Rancho.

The journey of Raju and Farhan to meet Rancho again, and the many shocking truths that they come across, the stunt they pull to coax Pia to run away from her own shaadi-mandap, all end into a fantastic climax in the beautiful locales of Ladakh.

The movie right from its first frame to the last will continue to tickle your funny bones. However, the sequences that make you howl and grunt in pain are- the ragging scene, the way Raju defines induction motor after he gets drunk, the way Millimeter misinterprets when Rancho says 'Virus ko nikaal' and of course, the 'get- electrocuted- when- you- pee' scenes. The movie has lots of chaddi and ass flashing sequences. So be prepared!

The one thing about this film is that it's very different from the last film that was an adaptation of Chetan Bhagat's novel Hello. If that movie completely butchered Chetan's work, this is just the opposite, probably even better. In fact it seems, in the case of 3 Idiots, the film makers have had a healthy competition with the author. With every passing sequence we see the efforts have gone higher and higher to make the film more interesting. Though, Chetan's was a more realistic novel, Hirani has taken the liberty to go surreal on the celluloid.

Aamir Khan has given up all his Ghajini muscles to put on a slight layer of flab in 3 Idiots. The chubby face gives him a kiddo look, which makes sense as he has to look younger for the character. In every scene and sequence, he continues to make us fall more in love with Rancho. His chemistry with Kareena may not be the one to set sparks flying, but it's definitely cute.

Kareena Kapoor is a welcome eye-candy in this film. As medical student Pia, she strikes the right balance between being geeky and being gorgeous. However, this bombshell is hard to accept in a comic role. Like they say, to make people laugh is the most difficult thing and Bebo still has to learn the ropes of it.

R. Madhavan as Farhan Qureshi is smooth. The way Farhan removes his anger at Virus by knocking off the letters from the nameplate so that it reads Veerus Buddhe is simply fantastic. Madhavan's cool quotient still continues to charm everyone with every character he portrays.

Sharman Joshi is one person who was there in the last adaptation of Chetan Bhagat's novel and also in this one. He has a gift for comedy. But in this film, the boy is seen struggling to break out of his shell. Soon enough Sharman will be touted for his histrionics.

Boman Irani probably is the only person who could've brought alive the character of Veeru Sahastra Buddhe so beautifully. He looks mad. He talks like he's even crazier. And the lisp just makes his fast talk even more hard to grasp. The peculiar pants that ride above his paunch, the awkward gait, the perpetually upturned smile all make Virus a character who will be remembered for long days to come.

The camera work in this film is amazing. Especially the shot where Raju jumps off the third floor window of Virus' office.

The music is catchy but the lyrics are the ones that make it work.

Raju Hirani and Vidhu Vinod Chopra couldn't have delivered a better Christmas gift for the Bollywood loving audience. And boy, with the returns this film going to make them, they are sure to have a splendid Christmas and New Year too.

A perfect movie to watch with your friends and family this festive season!

Sanjay's death-defying stunt in Luck

Sanjay Dutt has performed a stunning action sequence for the forthcoming Luck. He jumped from a speeding train, blindfolded and with his hands tied behind his back without any cables or dummies.

Director Soham Shah says, "This is one of the biggest and most expensive highlights of the film. It's his introduction in the film. The characters are testing their luck."
During the shot the production, as a precaution, set up cables and kept harnesses ready so if anything were to go wrong there would be no injury to Sanju but the latter refused. The death-defying scene was executed in Goa with five running trains by ace action master, Allan Amin.

Luck releases worldwide on 24th July by Studio 18
